Alert Watch

Watches the National Weather Service's alert feed for the county zone your town sits in and sends one plain message the first time something is issued — what it is, how long it runs, and what it means for the next few hours. It ignores the reissues: a warning that is already in force does not get announced twice. This is not an emergency alerting service; it is one message about one county from the same feed the broadcasters read.

Set it up

The US town or city nearest you, on its own — 'Asheville', not 'Asheville, NC'.
A warning means it is happening; a watch means it might; an advisory means inconvenient rather than dangerous.

Spending limits

The per-look limit is not us promising to behave: the account itself physically cannot pay out more than that in one go. The daily limit is ours to enforce.

See what it would find

This is the real thing, not a demonstration: Alert Watch reads the same sources it would read once hired. Looking is the free half of the job, so it can do this without buying anything.

Not this one? The other 36 are in the watcher catalogue, on shelves by what they watch.
