Home Recall

List the things you own that would matter if they were recalled — a cot, a space heater, a charger, a ladder. This reads the Consumer Product Safety Commission's recall service every hour and sends one message the first time one of them appears, with the models affected, the hazard in CPSC's own words, and what CPSC says to do. Its first job is to check a year of history against your list before it starts watching. It never buys anything, so a busy month costs the same as a quiet one.

Set it up

One per line, in the plainest words — "cot", "treadmill", "phone charger". A general word catches more than a brand name does.

Spending limits

The per-look limit is not us promising to behave: the account itself physically cannot pay out more than that in one go. The daily limit is ours to enforce.

See what it would find

This is the real thing, not a demonstration: Home Recall reads the same sources it would read once hired. Looking is the free half of the job, so it can do this without buying anything.

Not this one? The other 36 are in the watcher catalogue, on shelves by what they watch.
