River Watch

Finds the nearest river gauge to your town, then reads it every quarter hour and messages you when the level is climbing fast and already sitting high for this river. It shows the threshold it works to, and where that came from, so you can see what it will and won't wake you for. It reports a level and a rate — the National Weather Service is the only place a flood warning comes from.

Set it up

The US town or city nearest you, on its own — 'Augusta', not 'Augusta, ME'.
Feet of rise in three hours. Leave it automatic and it works the number out from what this particular river did over the last month, which is the only way one figure means the same thing on a big river and a small one.

Spending limits

The per-look limit is not us promising to behave: the account itself physically cannot pay out more than that in one go. The daily limit is ours to enforce.

See what it would find

This is the real thing, not a demonstration: River Watch reads the same sources it would read once hired. Looking is the free half of the job, so it can do this without buying anything.

Not this one? The other 36 are in the watcher catalogue, on shelves by what they watch.
